Big bang... 2AM...2PM...Shinee...Super Junior...DBSK...FT Island... Wondergirls...2ne1...Kara...Jewelry...Girls Generation...just some of the famous K-POP groups in Korea are now gaining popularity in the Philippines.
Some of these groups were already known before in the Philippines by small groups of fans. Anti-fans are also here and there and still growing.
It was at the peak of the Korean Nobela "Boys Over Flowers" when Bigbang and Shinee's names became a famous talk as they sang some of the show's Official Sound Track. The same show opened a new generation of fans all over the archipelago. It hit the country like storm. People of all ages knew the groups as well as their songs.
Myx started playing their songs and they shot upwards the hitcharts.
For a fan like me who had been a K-Pop supporter for more than a year now and knew these groups before most poeple in the Philippines do, it came as a wave when I started hearing all these K-Pop songs in the radio and being sang by the young generation.
Before "Boys Over Flowers" were shown in the Philippine TV, some Philippine based fan groups already guessed the possible impact of the show in the Philippines and we guessed right.
As K-Pop industry went soaring the Philippine island, more and more conflict arose. I saw some reations on the internet regarding some unknown videos to students, videos which the fans already know yet the Filipinos don't know of. Reactions to different videos on the internet soared up high and a lot of Filipinos were commenting to this videos although some of them had wrong judgement.
Based on the welcoming reactions of the Filipinos to K-Pop. The industry would expand and because of this, Philippine based fan groups were working harder to gather more people for fan meetings in the Philippines.
We were more excited now.
